The VT2 is a major step forward in van transmitter technology and offers more useful features than any other product in its class. The VT2 is a two box design and can be configured for both analog and digital operation. The digital engine is comprised of a 4:2:2/4:2:0 encoder, with a low delay mode of less than 100msec (fully MPEG2 compliant), and a COFDM modulator with full control over the modulation formats, bandwidth, data rate and guard interval. The COMPAC 2-3-7-10-13GHz is a professional microwave link with capacity of transmitting 1 video and 2 audio signals, with a transmitted power 500 mW. The transmission system can be divided in two parts: the modulator MOD 70, mounted in a 2RU (19" rack) cabinet and the transmission head, mounted in a water-protected compartment, designed to be placed behind the parabolic antenna. The transmission head has 70MHz input and the output frequency is 2, 3, 7, 10 or 13GHz depending on the model. On the other hand, the reception system also can be divided in two parts: the reception head, mounted in a water-protected compartment, designed to be placed behind the parabolic antenna and the demodulator DEM 70, mounted in a 2RU (19" rack) cabinet. The reception head has 2, 3, 7, 10 or 13GHz input (depending on the model), and 70MHz output. Furthermore the DEM 70 includes and IF monitor output.

The DEM 70 is a demodulator of a 70MHz modulation/demodulation TV system, designed to demodulate 1 video signal and 2 audio signals that have been sent through a microwave link (2, 7, 10 and 14GHz bands), and have been down converted. The intermediate frequency of 70MHz is standard. The 70MHz input/output signal is accompanied by the power supply that the transmission/reception head need. The frequency of the radio link system is customer requested, depending on the application and in accordance with the normative of the country where the system is installed.

OMB Electronic Systems has developed a newly Digital Microwave Radio Link which allows the long-distance transmission of 1 video and 2 audio signals, using the most advanced digital technology. The main innovation is the implementation of a hybrid modulation between the DVB-S and DVB-C (Digital Video Broadcasting Cable and Satellite) systems. After the digitalization process, the original signal is modulated according to EN 300 429 but using QPSK constellation (typical of DVB-S system - EN300 421). In this way we obtain a more robust signal than using a QAM transmission mode. The observation of the main quality parameters of the received signal shows optimum results and is a really cost effective solution.
